IntoPrint began in 1987 working largely for
researchers, policy makers and practitioners in the
Netherlands.
This involved preparing texts for academic and
popular readership; supporting authors and companies
by running training courses in scientific and report
writing, preparing style guides and technical
manuals; and working with other professionals to
establish standards for English language editing in
the Netherlands.
In addition to providing support services for organisations
based in the Netherlands, IntoPrint also worked on projects
for European and mulitinational organisations.
From 1997, Marilyn Minderhoud devoted increasing amounts of
time to working as managing editor for two
development-orientated magazines. Core activities included
sourcing information, running workshops and conducting field
research to generate data; copywriting and managing design
and publication processes.
More recently, she has been involved in several multi-media
projects, provided assistance and guidance to editors
setting up their own local magazines, and organised
workshops to stimulate the networking and production of
information. The later included a write-shop held for
agricultural extension workers in Timor, a communication
workshop for scientists and journalists in Zambia, and a
documentation workshop for senior agriculturalists in
Southern India.
